Championing Visionary Leaders in Business, Sustainability and Media

The LATA Awards shine a spotlight on the outstanding achievements within the Latin American travel industry, celebrating the businesses, individuals, and initiatives that drive excellence, innovation, and responsible tourism. Throughout the year, LATA recognises remarkable contributions across key areas, including business performance, sustainability efforts, impactful media coverage, and the dedication of industry professionals. These prestigious awards not only honour success but also inspire continued growth and best practices, reinforcing Latin America’s position as a leading global travel destination.

We are pleased to announce the opening for two of our annual awards: the LATA Excellence Awards and the LATA Responsible Tourism Awards. These accolades celebrate the best of the Latin American travel industry with all winners announced at LATA Expo in June.

This year’s LATA Hall of Fame will be announced at the Parliamentary Reception next month. Details of the LATA Media Awards will be coming soon, with the winners to be announced later in the year.

The LATA Excellence Awards

Previously the LATA Achievement Awards – recognise innovation and excellence from across the Latin American travel industry. Entries are welcome from all LATA members including tour operators, individual hotels, and destinations as well as global businesses such as airlines and major hotel chains. The awards aim to recognise and highlight true trailblazers, innovators and heroes from the LATA membership.

Returning to the judging panel, LATA is delighted to once again welcome independent industry experts Kate Kenward of Visit USA UK, Adrian Phillips from Bradt Travel Guides, Basia Kolosinska from C&M Recruitment and Kate McWilliams from LOTUS.

The LATA Responsible Tourism Awards

Championing responsible, ethical and sustainable tourism practices across Latin America. As the regional awards of the Global Responsible Tourism Awards,  the primary goal is to discover, acknowledge and highlight exemplary initiatives that can be replicated and scaled across the region. The prestigious awards showcase exemplary businesses, projects and destinations that are delivering measurable impact and pioneering innovative solutions.

The gold winners of the LATA Responsible Tourism Awards 2025 will be automatically entered into the Global Responsible Tourism Awards.

Judging the awards will be Harold Goodwin, co-founder of The Responsible Tourism Partnership and chair of the judges, Anne-Kathrin Zschiegner, Director of The Long Run, Chris Haslam, Chief Travel Writer at The Sunday Times, Edgar Weggelaar, CEO of Queer Destinations, Maria Emilia Correl, Co-Founder & Senior Strategist at Sistema B, Quinn Meyer, CREES Manu and Megan Parkinson, Head of Sustainability at LATA.
