Continuing our Sustainability Mission
Sustainability in travel is thankfully a growing importance within the industry. LosPots, having produced its own energy via solar and wind generation for over twenty years, now turns its attention to its own food production and the need for single use plastics. We are working closely alongside our chefs to develop a menu which will focus more on the foods that are produced on the farm, are in season or are sourced locally. In the 2024 season we have already removed all plastic bottle drinks from our shopping list. A new water filtering system has helped us achieve this goal.

Amazonas Explorer
Tree Planting Initiative for Vilcanota Basin
Every year since 2007, Amazonas Explorer has worked with ECOANPERU to donate our 1% to reforestation projects in the Lares Valley, near Cusco, Peru. And from 2020 onwards, we committed to planting 2 trees per person per day whilst travelling with us. So, on December 6th, with the Quishuarani community, we are climbing high into the Peruvian Andes to plant this year’s 15,000+ trees.
This marks the start of the 2024-5 Queuña Raymi festival helping regenerate native queuña forests throughout the Andes. This project protects vital watersheds, creates local sustainable employment and helps protect endangered wildlife for the next generations to enjoy. And captures some carbon too!
If you’d like us to plant some trees for you, click HERE or contact Paul Cripps – sales@amazonas-explorer.com for more information.
