What an amazing, special place. Pulling up from the lancha and seeing this remote paradise in front of me gave me happy chills. The staff is very attentive and kind. Spacious rooms. My favorite part was waking up in the morning with my coffee and just watching all the wildlife from my balcony or hammock. Very special place. Anyone thinking about including this hotel - do it! A must for Costa Rica.
The rooms and property were great. The staff were incredible. They were friendly, kind and helpful. The staff were so nice to our teenager who is learning Spanish and was given many opportunities to practice with nothing but encouragement. Our 7 year old was treated great and food was made that he loved.
Some of you reading this maybe used to five star accommodation but we are not so staying at Cativo lodge was a real treat! It is a very small, private resort so you feel very special and you receive very personal attention. We stayed in a separate lodge with a private plunge pool and views of the gulf. I wanted to soak up every experience so got up to star gaze and to see and hear the dawn. The sunsets are so lovely ( but very fast being near the equator. The nature walks allow you to immerse in the rainforest and the yoga also allowed you to connect with yourself and nature. The food is fresh and tasty. Above all the team at Cativo are so friendly and welcoming and were a key part of this special personal experience. Muchas gracias mon amigos.
