Shout out from the Heights
We stayed at their new Townhouse (adults only). The views of the ocean are unobstructed and majestic. We felt very private as well. The sunset views from the bedroom are truly breathtaking. The service is A+, they go out of their way to make sure you have a comfortable stay and experience (even getting you medication from the pharmacy in the middle of the night). Shout out to our host Andrey! You won’t want to leave the townhouse at all. Los Altos is within walking distance to restaurants, shops, and a grocery store. We loved hanging out at their infinity pool, their private beach, and taking hikes at the property. We saw monkeys, iguanas, and agouti. Strongly recommend flying to Quepos domestic airport if your flight into San Jose is early enough as the last flight to Quepos is around 4pm. We rented a car because wanted the flexibility, but found it to be a long drive with the traffic. We went to Manuel Antonio National Park and enjoyed the rainforest and wildlife. Recommend buying the tickets online in advance. Also recommend getting Los Altos to arrange transportation as there are many “official” looking people that will try to make you pay to park at their place and use their guides (they are not related with the park at all). Also did a sunset cruise with Brisa Elegante. Strongly recommended, it’s a wooden “pirate” boat. Great food. The thing we liked the most is that it’s not a loud party boat!
Los Altos created the perfect experience for our family. There are sloths, monkeys, macaws right on property. There is a private beach and we loved playing in the waves and exploring the tide pools. They set up private chairs and umbrellas for you. The pool overlooks the beach and jungle and our room was spacious, with a full kitchen and seating area (perfect for movie nights), air conditioning, and private balconies that span the length of the main room, main bedroom, and other rooms. We had beach and jungle views! The restaurant is delicious! They offer free breakfast (not your usual free breakfast- it's a full on breakfast menu) with fresh juice from local fruits each morning. The staff is friendly and helpful. They shuttle you to the private beach just a couple minutes through the jungle and come and pick you up when you're ready! There is a large game room. The location is close to Manuel Antonio National Park, lots of restaurants. I loved our experience here. The resort has private hiking trails with a hanging bridge and platform right in the jungle. There are yoga and cooking classes (empanadas- yummy!) I only wish we didn't have to leave! Rooms: The rooms are large, with private air conditioning, so everyone can be comfortable! They have private balconies attached to the rooms in addition to the main balcony off the seating area! There are bathrooms and closets. It felt more like a huge condo than a hotel room! Spacious and when the elevator door opens- it opens right into your own floor! That's it- the whole floor is your room! Nearby activities: Manuel Antonio National Park is 10 minutes away. Los Altos has private hiking trails, private beach with pool and hot tubs, but there are more beaches in Manuel Antonio park and locally as well. We rented a car and drove to Eco Chontales Waterfall and Nauyaca Falls as well! Lots of local restaurants, ziplines, and butterfly sanctuary. I also saw signs for a chocolate tour! No shortage of things to do nearby. Food & drinks: The food here is so delicious! Unlike Mexcio, you can drink the water. There is a good variety of food from local choices to french toast and avocado toast, chicken & rice, and tons more options. They offer breakfast complimentary, although it is a delicious menu with fresh squeezed juice from local fruits each morning! My kids say the Mac & Cheese was straight out of heaven. There are cocktails, fresh baked goodies when you arrive along with drinks in the fridge.
