We spend exceptional days there with Mariana and Beat and the local staff. I organize Safari’s and nature trips (Tanzania, Kenya, Namibia, Botswana, South Africa, Mongolia, India, Greenland) since 40 years and know what you can expect, but this is a very special experience for nature lovers and they still improve their product. I’ll recommend it to future customers.
An Experience to Treasure This was a once in a lifetime type experience, and I can't recommend it more. Imagine being surrounded by a beautiful rainforest full of life with a lake and river neaely at your doorstep and all of your needs are taken care of. Mariana, Beat, Carlos, Diego, Daniel, and Julio made sure we were always comfortable and deliciously fed. They led us through their forest home and taught us about the animals and plants we saw. My only complaint is that I eventually had to leave. Our experience a Lago Soledad was nothing short of magical.
Amazing 5 days in the Amazon Lago Soledad was a one of the highlights of my trip. I wanted to stay at a lodge that was a bit more off the beaten path, and that’s exactly what Lago Soledad is. The distance from human activity means you are more likely to see larger monkeys, and wildlife in general. The lakes resident giant river otters are amazing, and I’m not sure there is anywhere else where you have such a good chance of seeing them up close, and you do get to see them quite close on the lake boat. The bungalows are extremely comfortable, with the entire bungalow netted as well as netting over the beds. Mariana and Beat are amazing hosts, and are excellent at accomodating their guests from specific food requirements (and the food truly is amazing!) to tailoring the daily itinerary to suit guests needs.
A truly wild experience! My sister and I had an amazing 4 days at Lago Soledad! Located deep in a pristine and well conserved part of the Amazon, Soledad is surrounded on all sides by conservation efforts. The hospitality by Beat and Mariana is unmatched, and the local Machigenga guides have an understanding of the jungle that is hard to fathom. What a great way to experience a wild and pristine place. An adventure off the beaten path, that is for sure!
