LATA Strategic Sustainability Training
LATA, in collaboration with The Long Run and supported by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), is proud to offer this free, eight-week training course exclusively for LATA members. This transformative program is designed to help tourism businesses embed sustainability into their operations, drive positive impact, and build resilience in an ever-changing world.
Through a structured, step-by-step approach, participants will gain the tools and insights needed to:
- Conduct a comprehensive, 360-degree evaluation of their business.
- Define a clear and inspiring long-term vision.
- Integrate sustainability into every facet of daily operations.
- Develop and implement strategic plans that are holistic, innovative, and aligned with organisational goals.

This comprehensive course spans six modules over eight weeks, featuring:

- Buddy Group Meetings: Peer-to-peer learning and collaboration.
- Virtual Clinics: Interactive sessions for brainstorming, troubleshooting, and strategic planning.

Participant Requirements
This program is ideal for General Managers, Sustainability Managers, and other team members committed to strategic sustainability planning.
To ensure success, participants are required to:
- Dedicate 4–5 hours per module, plus additional time for peer and clinic sessions (approximately 38 hours in total).
- Attend all six modules, virtual clinics, and peer-to-peer meetings
- Apply learnings to develop and implement their own sustainability (4C) plan.
Language: The training is delivered in English, with materials available in Spanish.
Recognition and Commitment
Certification: Participants who complete all modules and actively engage in the program will receive a certificate of achievement.
Commitment: To maximise the program’s value, participants must demonstrate active engagement, complete assignments, and attend all sessions. LATA reserves the right to remove participants who fail to meet these commitments.
